Heck, Brandon Banks got 5 in one year because people kept kicking to him. CJ Spiller got 7 over his career and Clemson wasn't playing a cupcake schedule. Teams make mistakes. If you kick it short, you're giving them field position, so your kicker has to be able to kick it out of the back of the end zone, or kick it away from him. I really, really doubt the coaches said, "hey, let's kick it to Deebo and see what we can do".
