The University of Missouri is a public, flagship, land-grant state university that was founded in 1839. Located in Columbia, it is the largest university in the state of Missouri with over 32,000 students and over 15,000 faculty and staff. NCAA Division 1 athletes compete in the Southeastern Conference. Truman the Tiger is the mascot for the University of Missouri or ‘Mizzou’ as it is commonly referred to as. The University of Missouri has one of the country’s oldest and most expansive Greek systems, with active participation of over 70 chapters. An electric atmosphere is created on Mizzou game days, whether competing on the courts or field.
