and therein lies the phoniness of the zounamis and Fourth and Long masquerading as fans on here.
When you say the schedule is a "joke" and "easy" and a cakewalk and 8 wins are are "automatic" something like incremental improvement is out the window.
And realistically that's how most mid-tier programs are rebuilt. Case in point was Larry Smith. Mizzou was not on TV every week back then and all I would hear from the media here in St Louis was bashing and ridicule because the record the first three years was not good. However if you were actually going to the games back then (and I went to every one of them and most of the media here were not going to any games) you could see the team getting better game by game, week by week, year by year until they finally broke through and were nationally competitive for several years under Smith.
