But how many games did he play?
No way he made 172 tackles in a high school season unless he's getting credit for just being in on a tackle.
Let's say that they run 130 plays in a high school game. Probably 20 are special teams. That leaves 110 for o and d. Let's say it's split 50/50. That's about 55 plays on defense a game. Take out let's say 10 incomplete passes. That's 45 tackles made. He would have to make about 1/3 of all tackles to get that number.
If he's on a really good team he probably has less time on d than o. Plus I'm sure if it's a blowout the jv is in.
Just hard to believe those numbers unless he's in the state title game with 15 games.
