bowl games including traditional conference rivalries (some combination of Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Cotton Bowl) to serve as the first round of the playoffs. Thus every year one first round matchup would be the Big10 vs Pac 12 in Rose Bowl.
