"If Baumgartner stays with the team another 2 years, through her senior season, she will be the first high school pitching recruit at Mizzou to have stayed here through her senior year since Chelsea Thomas and Kristen Nottleman from the 2008-09 freshman class, and the only recruit to have done so in a span of 8 years of recruiting classes, from 2009 through 2016. That is just astonishing. Think about that. In an 8 year time span only one high school pitcher will have stayed with Mizzou all 4 years. Just one. I don't have the time or inclination to research that, but my guess is that is unprecedented among top 25 type teams."

Which is the reason World Series appearances have been few and far between since Chelsea left.
