At roughly the hallway point of the 2017 women's pro softball season, all three Mizzou grads from the 2016 season are doing well.

Emily Crane, playing for Chicago this year, had a rough rookie season last year, hitting just .224 in 45 games with 3 HRs and 10 RBI. This year she is starting again and hitting .291, already has 3 HRs.

Sami Fagan had an outstanding season last year for Akron, won rookie of the year honors and hit .387 in 51 games, with 9 HRs and 39 RBI. This year she got off to a slow start, but has hit .341 over her last 16 games to bring her average up to .293 for the year. She is leading the entire league in 2B hits.

Taylor Gadbois continues to shine. She was the one of these three players who I thought might struggle in the pros, but she is proving the old adage that speed kills. She hit .331 last year, and is hitting .329 this year for Texas, and leading the league in stolen bases. She is currently 6th in the league in hits and 9th in batting average.
