Seems like a lot of people are complaining about Tebow's promotion to high-A despite rather poor statistics at low-A.

This got me thinking, what if a team like the Royals did this, or even took this idea a step farther. Suppose the Royals brought him up to the major leagues and let him DH. Maybe it's not such a crazy idea. He would no doubt generate ticket sales, merchandise sales, and a lot of publicity (good or bad).

Would that generate enough money for ownership to pay other players - like Cain or Hosmer - to stay in KC that they would otherwise lose? Suppose he could hit .150 (big IF I know). That's not that much worse than Brandon Moss anyway. And you could pay Tebow the major league minimum instead of the $10 million the Royals are paying him over 2 years. It wouldn't surprise me to see a team do something like this someday. So I don't think the Mets are crazy at all. Probably a smart move with Tebow.
