That's why they sold it and without that purchase, the Trib very likely doesn't exist right now or it would exist in a very different form.
Agree that it sucks to lose true journalists but even Walljasper in his last column demonstrates the lack of understanding about how the old economic model that is broken for newspapers in the age of the internet: he laments that enough people didn't subscribe to keep the paper going.
But it was never subscribers that paid for journalism - it was always advertising including, not insignificantly so, classified advertising.
That model is forever gone.
