He's "upset" and writing to his audience, to be sure.
Where was his disdain when Porter, Sr. was hired at Washington to begin with? He is silent for that year, and only when Washington fires the head coach does he get upset?
He seems to make a point about Porter, Sr. still being under contract when Martin offered a job. If the writer's original point is that Porter, Sr., was hired by Martin solely on the basis of him being able to recruit his son, it stands to reason that the only reason/primary reason he was still under contract at Washington is...his ability to recruit his son. He wants it both ways.
There's plenty to question in college basketball. This isn't one of them.
