Friday Softball

Ugh. We lost to Illinois St 7-3 & were trailing 7-0 going into the 7th.
I want to correct something I posted earlier. I said EE took Fleming out of game #1 because she didn't take off immediately on a two out ground ball. No. He took her out because she ran thru his stop sign at 3B.
Here's something interesting I found out. Had EE been fired he would have been unemployed for less than an hour. Two choices- one was Arizona St & the other is a well known school that has fallen on hard times recently. That school told him, "NAME YOUR PRICE". I don't want to name it cause they ended up not firing their coach.
Well, we just are not hitting. But those two freshmen, Burnside & Kessinger look REALLY good.
We gave up four runs in one inning to Ill St with Norman pitching. She wasn't good but in fairness to her, IS had runners on 2nd & 3rd with two outs & the batter hit a sinking linedrive to CF. Reed was the CF'er! She couldn't get to the ball that Nash would certainly have caught. That would have been the 3rd out. Next batter hit a grounder to Romaine's backside that she had to try to short hop. Off her glove (tough call) for an E & two more runs score.
We are not a very good team right now.
