I grew up in StL, I went to Mizzou in the mid/late-80s. Why are we still having issues with the African American community in StL? Or maybe I should ask, are we having issues? I am not naive. I know Norm and others clashed with various personalities in StL, but my god, when will this issue go away or be resolved? I'm not saying we need to sweep something under the rug if a real problem exists, but I'd like to know that hell the problem is in 2017.
I have been a student or employed at three SEC schools, all with far worse historical race relations than Mizzou. Yet Mizzou seems to continue to be dogged by issues in StL. Why? Again, maybe I am just clueless and unaware of ongoing events, but when will this issue finally be resolved? I know of no other SEC school that is continuously trying to remake its image with a major city in its home state like Mizzou does with StL.
