A couple of the their big strengths are the balanced attacked - 5 hitters avg better than 1.5 kills per set. Mizzou also 5 hitters avg more than 1.5 kills per set. So both teams have balanced attack.
Minnesota's Low Error system helped to keep them at 477 hitting errors for the year, avg'ing 15 errors per match and a .293 attack% For comparison, we had 524 hitting errors, 16 errors per match and a .279 hitting%
Minny avg 2.7 blocks per set and we avg 2.6 blocks per set. We both avg just over 1 serving ace per set.
This is one match where we do not have any real height disadvantage. This usually doesn't matter as we are a very good blocking team for our height.
Bottom line. Minny is very good, but statistically we can play with them. To beat them, we'll need our A game and Minny will have to give us a little help. But I do not believe that totally outclass us on paper. I'm pumped about Friday night.
