and beats a cupcake in the OOC instead of Pitt-they'd be in now, right? It's kind of like 2 years ago, when the Big12 claimed they'd have '1 true champion'-until subjectivity was more important to them. The committee stated conference championships would be a significant consideration-but the champion of the best conference was passed over. I don't like the subjective component, because there are teams that will always get the benefit - OSU being one of them. I'm not saying OSU isn't that good, it's the method I don't like. Also, if it doesn't help them to get in, OSU actually benefits from not playing yesterday.
A few years ago, Notre Dame played for a national championship, and got completely destroyed-why, because even though they haven't won an NC in almost 30 years, people feel they should be relevant.
