Rush D Fell Off of a Cliff. Read-React D is Working?

@WVU: 248 rushing yards given up on 48 carries
vs. EMU: 170 rushing yards given up on 38 carries
vs. UGA: 101 rushing yards given up on 38 carries
vs. DSU: 44 rushing yards given up on 26 carries
@ LSU: 418 rushing yards given up on 52 carries
@ UF: 287 rushing yards given up on 39 carries
vs. MTSU: 300 rushing yards given up on 41 carries
1532 yards given up on the ground through 7 games.
Only 30 teams in all of FBS are worse than us against the rush. Opponents are averaging 5.3 yards per carry. 3.7% separates us from the worst of the worst.
Why would you ever pass the ball with odds like that? Just pound the ground game and let our OC call another series of 3-and-outs that take 20-seconds off of the clock.
