One advantage other countries have is that all they do is wrestle freestyle. US wrestlers spend their life wrestling folk with freestyle and greco as summer sports, not a main focus. So we are constantly behind in that regard. It's getting better as more tournaments and events are happening in the summer and a bigger focus is put on freestyle.
