Went 219-31 (0.876) over 8 seasons as the head coach of 2 prep programs. He was a three sport star at a small high school in southern West Virginia, and attended Marshall University. As soon as he graduated from Marshall University, Fulford headed to the now defunct Mountain State University. Then, he started Hunington Prep. After just one full season he had Huntington Prep nationally ranked and a roster full of future college players, and two guys headed to the NBA.
“Anyone that knows Rob, knows that he’s an extremely proud person and that Huntington Prep is his baby,” Huntington Prep assistant Ryan Arrowood said. “It wasn’t an easy decision for him to leave – he’s kind of been president and CEO of this thing since it started. It was extremely difficult for him, but tough for him to say no to that with his family and where he has put himself into a position to have a great opportunity like that.”
“My initial reaction is that it’s long overdue,” said Huntington Prep assistant Ryan Arrowood. “You’ve got to feel happy for a guy like Rob who has paid his dues and been passed over on a few positions that I think people will probably end up regretting. I’m just happy for him – he’s done amazing things and he has definitely earned the opportunity that he is getting.”
Here is a good article/interview he gave explaining Huntington Prep back when he was the coach:

So my question, after things didn’t line up with Kapita it almost seems like there is no connection there anymore. We aren’t losing recruiting battles, we aren’t even pursuing them. Huntington Prep continue to produce good talent, but MU doesn’t really even pursue it unless I’m missing something. Anyone who closely follows recruiting know why that is?
