The Anno Domini dating system was devised in 525 by Dionysius Exiguus to enumerate the years in his Easter table. His system was to replace the Diocletian era that had been used in an old Easter table because he did not wish to continue the memory of a tyrant who persecuted Christians. The Gregorian calendar, also called the Western calendar and the Christian calendar, is the internationally accepted civil calendar. It was introduced by Pope Gregory XIII, after whom the calendar was named, by a decree signed on 24 February 1582. It is based on the lunar and solar cycles which is why it has 12 months. The Bible loves that number, by the way, as there are 12 constellations of the Zodiac.
Josephus never acknowledges the existence of Jesus. He acknowledges the existence of John the Baptist, Herrod, and other figures but never mentions Jesus. In Antiquities of the Jews, reputable scholars dismiss all references to Jesus as a forgery and not part of his original work.
Eleven guys died for their faith? That still happens to this day. Are you saying the religion of Islam is truth because men die for it?
