Most of the liberal media was not covering Fast & Furious at all, so the nation was pretty stupid on this subject.
Now that he has magnified a national story, it can only hurt him, as it makes him look like there is a coverup going on.
What's in those documents must be so bad, and so incriminating, that Obama chose to possibly lose the election before November, rather than have anything come out about Fast & Furious, which would sink his Presidency no matter the term.
