...drafted in a low round that isn't much of a bonus and odds of ever making MLB are slim. I believe for second round picks the percentage of players who ever play in MLB is 50%, for guys below the 10th round it drops off significantly.
If he was my kid and had an offer to a solid school like Missouri I'd MAKE him to go to college, work toward a degree and improve his baseball skills enough to perhaps get drafted in a higher round.
I've known guys who spent a few years in milb and never made the majors and to a man they wish they had a college degree but once baseball was over they needed a full time job.
