I don't know the situation surrounding his hire.

Maybe he was hired with the intention of having him recruit. Maybe he was hired with the intention of having Isaac Chew do his recruiting and his leaving caused a need for someone to take up his recruiting because Coach Miller can't do it all. I don't know what the internal situation is.
