issue is not taxing, its spending. If you're going to spend - and you are - then we need to tax for it. Except that you don't tax for "it". You tax for the next outrageously unaffordable and usually unproductive spending outrage, designed primarily to extract enough votes from an ignorant public to get re-elected.
