Urgent Care typically won't take uninsured patients. You are aware that close to 50% of your fellow citizens do not have any insurance? (congress does though).

My kid had a slight concussion from snowboarding and it was $1000 bucks for the xrays, tests and other stuff they did at the URGENT CARE. That urgent care was 80 miles away from where he lived. There was a hospital 5 minutes away.

I have insurance.

He had a similar concussion while playing soccer a couple years earlier. That bill was 4700 bucks when we got it from the ER room.

If you don't have insurance and work a low wage job, what are your choices?

ER is free. Urgent care is not.

Who pays for the ER visit?
