They beat #17 USC 33-20
They beat #3 Texas 48-27
They beat #5 Auburn 40-22
They beat #6 CU 45-17

They won by 3 TD's or more, 8 times, including a 75-28 pounding of KSU.

They scored more than 39 points or more 8 times.

Seems to me they proved it on the field.

Colorado only lost to OU and NU that year, and went 10-2.

They beat #9 LSU 31-21
They beat #6 Ohio State 20-14
They beat #15 Houston 29-17

Seems to me they proved it on the field too.

NU beat both OU and CU, went 13-0 and beat #2 Alabama 38-6 in the Orange Bowl. No doubt about them.
