Why does Faurot Field look so Small?

Depending on the angle of the picture Memorial Stadium looks puny, or sometimes it looks Big .... not huge but big. I've been to numerous of games, it is much larger in person then some of the pics indicate? Can anyone explain this to me, in my opinion is the Rock M side of the satdium and how its Wide Open, Ohio St's stadium is the same way but they have seats built around the end of the horse shoe.. DO you think that would be a good idea? To build seating around the "M", leave the hill but build seats above it?
