It excersized that power by making the BIG XII one of the four power conferences instead of the ACC. ACC conference commisioner Swofford make a strategic mistake by changing its vote on a playoff formula from four best teams which the SEC favored to a four conference champion format which is favored by ther B1G and PAC 12. Now the ACC is the odd conference out if indeed the super conference format evolves the way everyone thinks it will. Now the scramble will be on for the two coveted spots the SEC can expand to.
Texas A&M and Missouri can both count their blessings on being in an elite conference that values each and every member institution. I like to tell BIG XII fans when I see them, that if Missouriand A&M weren't golden before they are now. No question both are in a good place now.
