top 10 of all time in terms of on the court results. They do themselves a dis-service to an extent trying to wedge themselves into things like the top 5 artificially, so their position always comes off foolish and cheapened.
ku has a unique perspective in relation to most college programs, based mostly on the fact that a huge % of their 'fans' didn't actually go to ku. Hence the reason (which seems so odd to us) that they don't care if they cheat, if their athletic department is completely one-dimensional, if their program has a foundation on improper benefits, and if their team negatively reflects on the school and its academics. It only makes sense that on-court results would be the only thing that matters from that perspective, and why would those people who view the men's team as a professional team and who derive much of their personal identity from the teams on-court accomplishments care about things like the football team or integrity or how it reflects on the college.
Which is fine for them, and a great reason why its such a plus for us to be distancing ourselves from that relationship because MU isn't going to reach its potential benchmarking to something with that perspective.
