We all agree (at least I hope) that on Sept. 22, 1861 the town of Osceola Missouri went from a population of 2,500 to a population of 200, and that devastation was brought upon it via a group of kansans refering to itself as jayhawks. It involved a two-day orgy of looting, arson, rape, and murder.
As such...we can all agree (again, I hope) that no matter how much time passes or no matter how many different incarnations the term jayhawk takes on, its HUGELY offensive and insensative to the decendants of those who were impacted by the actions of jayhawks to think that their own state would glorify the symbol.
Agree, or can you possibly disagree with that arguement?
