Nobody views the Jayhawk as a symbol of terrorism. I'm understanding why some of you guys are really opposed to it now that I look at the history, but bottom line is that just isn't how it's viewed anymore.
Swastikas aren't viewed as sports mascots these days. Nor are Confederate flags. Those have different connotations in our society. Maybe it's wrong for us to condemn those and not condemn a Jayhawk, but that's just how it is.
And yes, I am offended by people flying a Confederate flag because of what it stands for in our society.
