For you 'veteran' Missouri fans: When the Big 8 existed,

was there a feeling of conference unity? Did you root for Big 8 teams if they were playing a non-conference game? I get the sense that there has never been a conference-wide "Go Big XII" feeling of pride or unity. I fly an SEC flag with my Vandy at my tailgates. I've heard people who didn't want SEC expansion say that A&M and Missouri "might as well be welcome, because they're ours now." Many (most, I think) SEC fans want to feel pride not just for their team, but for the conference as well. I think the SEC having a presence in Texas and Missouri expands the prestige of the conference as a whole, and I hope Missouri and A&M fans feel that sense of unity. What's good for the conference should be good for all of its members. I hope you all feel welcome when you travel--just don't expect any easy victories on Saturday!
