According to the BLS, the 130K private sector jobs gained in April now puts Obama in the plus-column after 39 months (4,248,000), no small feat considering he began his first term with crushing -800K numbers.
We now have 35K more private sector jobs than we did in January 2009. We remain down 572K overall, but look where they come from--the public sector has now shed 607K jobs nationwide under Obama.
Republicans can't have it both ways in 2012. You've screamed for sharp public job cuts--you got it. But that's where the "weak" job numbers are coming from at this point.
We'll continue the fight of cleaning up W's mess, and we're about halfway to the overall 8.7 million private sector jobs lost during the recession, but it's not out of the question that we'll hit a total of 16 million private sector jobs gained by the end of the second term...
