No, we're probably not objective when it comes to the Big 12. A lot of us were really frustrated with the conference's governance for a long time.
But I get annoyed when the fans of schools with NO options come over here to tell us how great things are going to be in the "new" Big 12, now that the "whiners" are gone.
ISU fans have a lot of motivation for Big 12 boosterism; if the conference goes away, you're done for. There are no other options to relevance in major college athletics.
"They become Northern Iowa with a $5 million scoreboard," is how the Iowa Regents President described the Cyclones in that situation.
When ISU turns down an invite from the Big 10 or some other major conference to stick around in the Big Bevo, THEN you can laugh all you want about how great things are.
But until that happens, kU, kSU, and ISU can't make much of an argument that they ended up trapped in a better situation than NU, CU, TAMU, and Mizzou.
