potential second round draft pick? It made sense for Albert White for instance because he had a kid to support and no means to do so as a college athlete, so on the off-chance he was selected that was great and if not he could start playing professionally at a lower level league.
Why go from being a nationally relevant college player to the D-league a year early if money isn't a requirement? There are only 2 rounds of the NBA draft. I don't know how many total overall players have been drafted at 5'10 or shorter into the NBA, but I imagine its rather small and those players were just off the charts elite to offset their lack of stature...they weren't guards who had trouble knocking down shots consistently and who shot a set shot behind the arc. Maybe Pressey demonstrates a greatly improved shooting ability this season and its all moot, and I hope that is the case. But he will need to be fantastic in all other area's to offset his lack of height to be a 1st round NBA draft pick.
