MU recruiting pitch includes Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt?

"Rhodes’ father isn’t sure which school his son will pick, but he does know conference affiliation could be a factor.
“That’s something we’ve discussed,” Randy Rhodes said. “Kids work so hard … it would be frustrating if conference realignment made it more difficult for that to happen for a kid that spends five years at a school.”"
Have to say, I'm impressed and surprised -- didn't think MU staff would necessarily "go there" but it's clear someone is in Rhode's ear about the potential for conference re-alignment to impact his son's college career in the next 5 years should his son choose a Big 12 school.
It's a strategy I could have envisioned further down the road for MU as the next shoe begins to drop in conference realignment -- but it looks like MU is playing for keeps in KC right now and why not?
kU and kSU -- you want to recruit in KC against MU or more stable Big 12 schools? You better start selling the merits of playing in the MWC or CUSA.
