assessment indicates he will be NBA ready sooner rather than later based on his work ethic and toughness. That makes no sense that he would be attractive to the NBA because he lacks those characteristics, particularly given the second reference states that "NBA scouts already love his frame and toughness." Do they love that he doesn't have any?

You are evaluating Nash after a year of having to be the man on a limited team playing for a terrible coach, and comparing him to Pollard coming out of high school. Of course Pollard's weaknesses wouldn't have been exposed to the same extent at this point.
