Matt Lawrence get drafted, even though he was their go to offensive guy at that point. I'm saying that even with limited talent its somewhat hard in today's college basketball to score less than 65 ppg.
Not that it can't, and not that it shouldn't be done if that is what is required of your roster and playing style. Pollard isn't choosing between a 6-10 Big 12 team and a team that is going to contend for a conference title. And given that, one metric to take into account would be their low scoring. I've never said it should be what he bases his decision on or even how much weight he would give that, only that its a factor for consideration.
