Hello neighbors and new friends,
I've been reading your posts now for a few months and I've really enjoyed learning more about Missouri football. Though it will be different, I think you'll grow to enjoy your new league. I am a lifelong Georgia fan and supporter and am proud to have you people as new yearly rivals. I look forward to many great memories between the two teams!
Now, I'd like to share a little of what I've learned about the league since 1980 or so. I know you've already heard a lot already and a lot of what you hear is just blah blah blah. So I'm not trying to harp on the SEC or anything like that. These are just some things I've noticed through the years and what you can come to expect yearly and weekly.
1. Florida and Tennessee will not be down long. They will be back and the east will get very tough soon. Though the shortrun thought about them may be pleasant, believe me, it won't be long before your schedule looks brutal. But, you'll love it.
2. It seems to win the east, you can't afford more than 2 sec losses in a year. Most of the time, you'll either need to go undefeated or lose 1 to ensure an eastern championship. And while it's easy now to just review your eastern opponents, don't forget the western games count as well. That means you can't afford to lose to Alabama this year. Beat them. It's important.
3. The buildup and anticipation for games is great! It's almost weekly and even though there are many heartbreaking defeats, the experience and memories with friends and other fans is priceless.
So, that's about it. Good luck and I'm excited about our first game with one another. I expect Georgia might be ranked in the top 5 so the game will have a lot of hype. We are prone to mistakes and I believe the game will be very entertaining. It's a big one. Neither team can afford to lose.
