the best conference. I've repeatedly stated that you need multiple metrics, including, NCAA tourney performance, and that you have to look at how all teams in a conference perform. It's no secret that Kentucky is a top 5 program but their 8 titles doesn't necessarily mean the SEC is the best BB conference. It means ten teams ride their coattails when they've done little themselves.
And, it's not news that the Big12 massively underachieved in the NCAA tournament. While you can say that they have the same number of titles as the B10 in this defined time period, look at the # of Final Fours as well. It's not close. Look at NCAA winning %. It's not that close.
The Big 10 is a deeper league than the Big 12 and has had more NCAA success since the inception of the Big 12. I'm not sure that's debatable.
