What's applicable now still wouldn't fit the patriots of the American Revolution. The terrorist's strategy is to intimidate and terrorize the general populace. You can't honestly claim that about the American patriots. Their targets were strictly British military. The British, however did intimidate the general populace.

So, your analogy is false.
