I think you give him a look just cuz of who he is but you can also look at what he's doing this far at his little coaching gig and see what people say about him and what results he's getting...if he's just not ready for this level yet then you close the book and move on. But if he is getting good reviews, his local ties make it worth at least giving him a look I would think.
