If he were a crappy coach, he'd be gone already.
As for where he ranks, I'd have to give it thought but the posts below raise several coaches at his level from a resume perspective. I'd take no issue with saying he's a top-10 coach, but #2 without debate....can't go there. They had a great year...but I not even Mizzou fans were crowing that loudly after '07's 12-2 record (FU Bob Stoopsx2).
The "doing more with a lot less talent" argument is odd since all we've heard since the SEC announcment is just how much more talent UA has than not only Mizzou but nearly everyone.
Petrino...good coach, monumental jackhole....everyone here has great stories about Bobby, Paul and Putter...and they're not kind. Sour grapes maybe....not a big believer in karma, but that sowing and reaping thing has some legs.
