They have no incentive to continue playing Mizzou. Basketball does not need us, they can pay a directional school a few pennies to play them in Lowrents or KC and keep all of the money. Or they can schedule a Duke or Kentucky and get much more national attention than a Mizzou game would bring.
Their football team is so far down that they need drastic improvement just to be bad. Why take a beating from Mizzou that only a few thousand of their fans are interested in attending?
I expect the rivalry to be rekindled by the non-revenue teams first to gain a bit of attention with almost no travel cost. That could lead to BB and FB games down the road, maybe.
As long as the big xii exists and has a nine game schedule I expect the football game to be dead.
