1973: Final Record 21-6 for a winning % of 77.7%. Finished second place in conference, won conference tournament. Ranked as high as 5th, never fell out of the top 16 in ranking. Not eligible for NCAA tournament because only conference winners could participate. Led by John Brown, an Olympian and top 10 draft pick, team included 6 players who were drafted.
1976 : Final record 26-5 for a winning % of 83.9%. Conference championship, first in 36 years. Conference Tourney Champ. Elite Eight appearance in NCAA prior to seeds, lead Michigan (who lost in the title game to undefeated Indiana team) in the closing minutes until a technical foul and poor foul shooting derailed game for MU. Ranked as high as 12th. Team included Willie Smith who had the best season in school history and Kim Anderson who would win conference player of the year the next season, 4 total players drafted by the NBA.
1980 : Final Record 25-6 for a winning % of 83.9%. Conference champion, made the sweet sixteen in NCAA tournament as a 5 seed after huge victory over national power Notre Dame. Highest ranking of 12th. Team included 5 NBA draft picks.
1982 : Final Record 27-4 for a winning % of 87.1%. Conference champion, conference tournament champion. Achieved #1 ranking, never fell outside the top 5 after Jan 5th poll. Lost in the Sweet Sixteen as a 2 seed. Included 6 NBA draft picks.
1989 : Final Record 29-8 for a winning % of 78.4%, highest win total in school history prior to this year. Finished second in conference, won conference tournament. Ranked as high as #3, never ranked outside of top 13. Lost in the sweet sixteen as a 3 seed. Included 4 NBA draft picks.
1990 : Final Record 26-6 for a winning % of 81.3%. Finished first in conference. Ranked as high as #1, never outside the top 7 until the last poll of the year. Lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament as a 3 seed. Included two NBA draft picks.
