If you look at the talent that ISU, ku, and MU had, how they played in conference, what the end results were in conference, either of the 3 coaches could have an argument for why they should be conference COY.

If non-con games are also apart of the decision for conference COY, then yes, Haith should have won it.

Besides, who cares? National coach of the year is a whole lot better than just conference coach of the year.
