because they didn't have the personnel to compete with the Alabama's, LSU's, etc. If they did, and used the spread stuff, expect big things.
If both O and D operate at maximum potential, given equal talent/athleticism, the O will beat the D. I suggest that doesn't mean they run 3 yds up the middle and a cloud of dust. Ain't gonna cut it.
