right now, Big 12 schools will still rake in the majority of the top Texas recruits because they have both those variables by the balls. The kid gets to stay close to home AND play in a major conference. Now if you splinter it to where the only "major conference" options are Texas/OU in the PAC or A&M in the SEC as far as schools that are really close by...then the "leftover league" teams, whoever they are in whatever the remainder thingy is called, only really have the "close to home" angle to pitch...which is not always gonna be that successful when a great program from or chance to play in a great league comes calling. Ask Tyler Hansbrough, Bradley Beal, etc...
