In one of the articles I read that Fox advanced dollars to the Big12 towards the upcoming TV deal. It said that amounted to $2.5M that went to A&M. It's about $3M difference in the net of the Big12 buyouts between A&M and Mizzou, but $2.5 was from Fox.
We also know that A&M was promised a big increase in dollars by Beebe, TU & Co. when they didn't leave the Big12 in the fall of 2010.
When you also add in the three month difference it seems to make some sense why A&M might pay a little less in the end.
