Alabama has gone through lulls (pre-Saban), so has OU (pre-Stoops), so has USC (pre-Carrell).
All big programs have ups and downs. But you didn't see OU removing the interlocking OU on their helmet because it was present during a down period of the program. You didn't see Bama putting an elephant on the side of its helmet during a down period because the numbers on the helmet were there.
I'm just saying it's a good look, it's classic, it has tradition tied to Missouri Football (good and bad) and many others aside from myself love it.
Go put Tiger heads all over campus (they already have) and hand out buttons with tiger heads on them, but why can't they leave just this one element that is a link to the past, as far as what Missouri Football has been.
