I made a statement earlier that the Block M on the helmet represented a losing era of Mizzou Football. While we didn't lose year after year until 1984, we did have some good years. I know as well as anyone on this board that the helmet doesn't help us win or lose but I was just curious what the records were.

During that span we have a winning percentage of 47.82%. Granted, the 8 ties would be nice to add to the win column and we have fared well since the inclusion of overtime in 1996.
We also had 21 out of 41 losing seasons which is a tad over 51%. I made that decision based on that if you win 6 games or more you usually don't get fired, so that to me would warrant a successful season.
Also, If you remove 97 and 98 from the list we would have had losing seasons from 1984 to 2002. That's a 2 winning season out of 19 years. This is why people in the SEC don't take Mizzou seriously when asked if we can win.
