ter picking stocks vs. what they would do in a low cost index funds--most pros making $1m+ a year can't do it plus after you figure in taxes/commissions/bid-ask spreads its even bleaker--its "fun' to research and invest in stocks for speculation I suppose, but I don't think its a productive use of time--ask any finance professor at any major school and they'll agree--people just love to talk about the ones that supposedly did well but forget to mention the 2 or 3 that didn't--Ive picked stocks for years and i finally gave it up--it just seemed silly for me to think I can outsmart hedge funds and wall street algorythms
